Ake Jonsson’s first Yamaha/Maico prototype

A few words from the current owner of this bike.

Ake helped build and raced this bike in Sweden in the 1973. The bike features:  OW13 Factory Yamaha motor, Factory KYB fork and handmade triple clamps, Factory Yamaha tank with belt, Factory Yamaha front fender, Factory MAICO frame made by Kramer, Koni rear shocks, Yamaha wheels, Factory Maico seat and rear fender and a handmade airbox.

Featured here is a 1974 Yamaha OW13.  The bike currently belongs to John Riley.  The bike is a work in progress as it was missing some parts when John acquired it.

John recently sent some up dated photos of his bike.  He managed to track down several parts that he was missing including:
– Titanium Kick start
– Sand cast magnesium twist throttle
– Sand cast magnesium clutch basket and titanium clutch bolts
– Titanium axles, spacers, nuts, bolts etc
